How To Use Solar Panels At Home And In The Office

!±8± How To Use Solar Panels At Home And In The Office

There are many different ways you can make use of solar panels at home and in the office. By using solar energy to generate electricity, you can lower your long-term energy bills and help reduce the amount of greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere.

At home, you can either install a full-scale photovoltaic panel array on your property or use small PV panels to run individual tasks. A full-scale system will be able to power your electrical appliances and lighting. For heating, it is cheaper to use solar heaters or gas. This arrangement can take a big load off your PV panels and have them supply other important appliances.

If you want to use individual pieces of PV panels, you can spread them all over your property. You may want to have a 12-volt solar panel for your automatic gate opener, another for your garden sprinkler, another for your garage lights, et cetera.

Or you can even put a few pieces of solar panels together and rest them on your awning. During the day, they can charge up the batteries. At night, these batteries supply power to floodlights and ambient lights around the house.

In fact, the possibilities are simply limitless. Whatever you can think of, you can almost always use solar power to make it happen for you.

The same is true in the office. Even though energy needs are different, solar power can still be utilized. Electricity is generated mainly to power office equipment like computers, servers, printers, fax machines, photocopiers and lights.

Electricity generated during the day can also be stored in rechargeable batteries so as to power other equipment at night. Many office buildings require small lamps to be turned on throughout the night for security purposes. Perhaps your burglar alarm can also be operated using solar energy. In case it fails, power from the mains can kick in as backup.

Commercial properties are usually much larger than residential properties. Therefore there will be more space to install solar panels. Other than the roof, you can also install them at car parks and in the garden. Sheltered walkways are also good candidates for locating PV panels.

Offices, unlike residential homes, have bigger budgets to implement technologies such as photovoltaic as part of their operation. Because it makes sense financially to use PV panels to generate electricity, more and more corporations have started to look into this alternative. By producing their own electricity, they can take control of their future energy expenditure and not be worried about the rising price of oil.
